Thanks to the association SMIT Creator I had an opportunity to take part in the very interesting project called ‘Acting time against addiction’ organized in Aksaray in Turkey. We focused on addictions in our society and took part in meetings and workshops that helped us to raise awareness. We tried to find reasons for addictions and ways to stop them.
In Turkey met participants from 5 countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Turkey and between March 26th and April 1st we had an opportunity to present our ideas and opinions about addictions and to learn during workshops and activities. We had chance not only to meet each other during different kind of activities, but also we got to know a lot about our cultures. Every evening one group had opportunity to present its country, to compare myths with reality and to present national food. We learnt about history, economy and even national dances.
During the project we took part in classes organized in two high schools. First of them – in Aksaray, the nice town located in beautiful place with breathtaking view on Hasan Moutain. Second – in Ortakoy, about 50 km from Aksaray. In both of them we participated in many activities that involved participants from all countries and students from high schools that hosted us as well. It was nice experience thanks to which we had chance to meet real Turkish hospitality and to see how schools in Turkey work.
It was my first contact with the initiatives of the "Youth in Action" program, but I am sure not the last. I think it is amazing chance for young people to involve in something important and - at the same time – to have fun and meet interesting people and other cultures.

At the beginning I would like to thank you for the chance to take part in the project called ‘Acting time against addiction’ organized in Aksaray in Turkey. It was my first time when I had a chance to see how wonderful and edifying it can be.
In Turkey we met participants from 5 countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Turkey. It was amaizing experience to meet people from so many countries and learn about their cultures. Everyday we can learn new facts about other nations and their traditions thanks to cultural evenings. During the project we took part in classes organized in two high schools. First of them was in Aksaray , we "broke the ice" talking and having fun together.". Another day we went to Ortakoy. In both of them cities we participated in many activities that involved participants from all countries and students from high schools that hosted us as well.
It was my first contact with the initiatives of the "Youth in Action" program, but with the acquisition of the wider experience and knowledge in this field is certainly not the last. It is followed by the awareness that it’s neccesary (but above all - it’s possible) to make some personal commitments, contributing to make some positive changes. Each group worked on a project proposal that will hopefully lead to cooperation between NGOs in different countries so that we can fight youth unemployment together.
    Thank You.

Thanks to the association SMIT Creator I participated in the project that took place in Aksaray, Turkey. The main theme of that project was 'acting time against addictions', so for almost a week we were discussing about addictions in our countries and trying to find the best ways to prevent them. We also had a chance to visit two local high schools and talk to turkish children and ask about their opinion about this topic. We had a pleasure of meeting participants from Czech Republic, Lithuania, Romania and Turkey and it was a great experience, because we had a chance to learn more about several cultures in such a few days.
Until last year I did not know much about wide variety of options that the European Union offers to young people, and I am convinced that there are a lot of people who are unaware of the possibilities they can get from such programs as Youth in Action. For me going on a project in Turkey was such a great experience and I am really grateful for this opportunity because despite of many new things I learnd, I also made new friend, which I really hope to see in the future, maybe at the next Youth in Action project ;)
